SmarTone Kids Care
Project details
SmarTone commissioned our team to build a new standalone parental control product designed to launch as a subscription-based Value-Added Service (VAS) for the Hong Kong market. I led the UI/UX design process to translate complex security capabilities—such as real-time geofencing, custom scheduling, app blocking, and activity logging—into an intuitive, empowering digital experience.

(01)
Background
Working with a client-provided sitemap mapping out Parent and Child ecosystem flows, our goal was to translate dense features. This includes device pairing, geofencing, screen time control, and usage statistics—into a seamless, supportive user experience tailored for busy modern families.

(02)
UX RESERACH
Before touching the UI layouts, we benchmarked existing global parental control solutions with client. Our goal was to evaluate how competitor apps structure their Onboarding & Device Pairing, Dashboard and Restriction Rules Setup.

ART DIRECTION
Working through multiple design options, we evaluated both brand-aligned and sub-brand visual directions for SmarTone. The final direction combines vivid 3D graphic elements with a refined, card-based interface—using SmarTone's signature red as a purposeful accent to balance strong brand recognition with clean data presentation.

FINAL LOOK
The final design for SmarTone Kids CARE balances trusted brand identity with a clean, modern aesthetic. The interface transforms complex parental control tools, e.g. screen time rules and live location tracking, into an approachable daily experience.
